Wood Stove Exchange Program (CVRD)

To help reduce local wood smoke pollution, the Comox Valley Regional District has $1,000 rebates available for home owners in the Comox Valley who are removing a 5 plus year old wood stove with a pellet, propane, or gas heating appliance or an electric air-source heat pump.

Do you meet eligibility requirements for a $1,000 rebate?

To be eligible for the rebate, participants must meet the following requirements:

  • Reside on a property within the Comox Valley Regional District (including all municipal and electoral areas) and application must be supported by the registered property owner.
  • The home on the property has a wood burning appliance that is regularly used as the home's heat source and the existing wood burning appliance must have been manufactured prior to 2014.
  • The old wood stove is removed, decommissioned and recycled (ie. it cannot be re-used in a workshop or garage).
  • All work must be done in compliance with local code requirements
